Gold Futures End With a Loss on Stronger Dollar

Gold futures ended with a loss on Monday, with strength in the dollar putting pressure on the dollar-denominated precious metal. The greenback found support as the British pound touched a 20-month low after a highly anticipated vote on U.K.'s exit from the European Union was postponed. ISM Non-Manufacturing Index Rises to 60.7 in November

The rate of growth in the economy's service sector picked up in November, according to a report released on Thursday.

The Institute of Supply Management said its non-manufacturing purchasing managers' index rose to 60.7 in November, from 60.3 the previous month.

Economists had forecast a reading of 59.2.

A reading above 50 for the index indicates expansion in the sector, and a reading below 50 signals contraction.
