Tokyo stocks opened higher on Monday, with investors putting trade worries on the back burner after data showed Japan's economy grew in the first quarter, defying expectations. Gold poised for first weekly gain in three as dollar weakens after investors weigh U.S. data offering mixed signals for inflation.

Bullion for immediate delivery +0.4% to $1,206.50/oz at 10:25am in London; +0.8% this week.

In other precious metals, Silver +0.3% to $14.209/oz; set for first weekly gain after two weeks of declines. Platinum +0.5% to $807.23/oz. Palladium +0.1% to $982.76/oz.
