Tokyo Stocks Open Higher Following Wall St Climb

Tokyo stocks opened higher on Monday, tracking rallies on Wall Street with all eyes on key events this week including a major speech by the US Federal Reserve chief. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.90 percent, or 182.81 points, at 20,601.62 in early trade, while the broader Topix index climbed 0.68 percent, or 10.17 points, to 1,495.46. Source : AFP

Gold futures were under pressure Thursday, pulling back below the $1,300-an-ounce level as the U.S. dollar regained its footing and investors appeared to shrug off political turmoil in the U.K. surrounding the country's preparations for exiting from the European Union.

Gold for April delivery on Comex fell $14.60, or 1.1%, to $1,294.70 an ounce. On Wednesday, prices for the most-active contract marked the highest settlement since Feb. 28.
