UK Police Investigating Package Sent to Harry and Meghan

London police say they are investigating a suspicious package that was sent to Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle. The Metropolitan Police force says "a package containing a substance" was delivered to St. James's Palace, where Harry has his office, on Feb. 12. It says the substance "was tested and confirmed as non-suspicious." The force said Thursday that detectives are investigating an offense of malicious communication in relation to the package. Gold on Track For Biggest Weekly Drop This Year

Gold was marginally lower Friday as it headed for its biggest weekly decline so far this year as the dollar stabilized. April gold fell 40 cents, or less than 0.1%, to $1,332.30 an ounce, and March silver lost 1 cent, or less than 0.1%, to $16.580 an ounce. Oil prices pare losses as EIA reports a 6.9 million-barrel drop in U.S. crude supplies

Oil prices pared their earlier declines Thursday after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that domestic crude supplies dropped 6.9 million barrels for the week ended Jan. 12.

Analysts surveyed by S&P Global Platts had forecast a fall of 425,000 barrels, while the American Petroleum Institute on Wednesday reported a drop of 5.1 million barrels. Gasoline stockpiles climbed by 3.6 million barrels for the week, while distillate stockpiles declined by 3.9 million barrels, according to the EIA.

The S&P Global Platts survey forecast a supply rise of 2.7 million barrels for gasoline and a fall of 850,000 barrels for distillates. February crude was down 27 cents, or 0.4%, to $63.70 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, but that was up from $63.52 before the supply data.
