U.S. Oil Futures Settle Higher, Climb Over 6% For The Month

U.S. benchmark oil futures settled higher on Thursday, with prices tracking the front-month contracts up over 6% in February. U.S. government data released Wednesday revealed an unexpected 8.6 million-barrel weekly drop in domestic crude supplies.

Saudi Arabia also recently reaffirmed its commitment to production cuts, adding further support to prices. April West Texas Intermediate oil rose 28 cents, or 0.5%, to settle at $57.22 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
