The dollar™s two-day rally petered out as Treasury yields slipped and traders await economic data for clues on the pace of U.S. interest-rate increases.

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index fell after the yield on 10-year Treasuries dipped following a 13-basis point advance in the past three days. Reports on August consumer-price gains and retail sales due this week may shed light on the strength of the U.S. economic recovery as the Federal Reserve prepares to review policy next week.

USD/JPY drops 0.1% to 110.04; rallied 2.1% in past two days.

GBP/USD climbs 0.2% to 1.3313; reached 1.3315, highest in a year.

NZD/USD steady at 0.7288; rallied as much as 0.9% Tuesday.

AUD/USD erases gains of as much as 0.3% after RBA board member Ian Harper says the nation™s economic growth isn™t strong enough to justify an interest-rate increase.
