Bank of England pada Kamis ini mempertahankan suku bunga utamanya sebesar 0,5%, memenuhi harapan yang dipegang secara luas.

Komite Kebijakan Moneter memilih 7-2 untuk tidak membuat perubahan dalam kebijakan, keputusan yang datang karena inflasi telah melambat ke tingkat 2,7% tetapi masih di atas target bank sebesar 2%. "Penguatan langkah-langkah jangka pendek dari pertumbuhan upah di kuartal terakhir dan berbagai indikator survei menunjukkan pertumbuhan pembayaran akan meningkat lebih lanjut sebagai tanggapan terhadap pengetatan pasar tenaga kerja.

Hal ini memberikan keyakinan yang meningkat bahwa pertumbuhan dalam upah dan biaya tenaga kerja unit akan mencapai tingkat target yang konsisten, "kata bank dalam sebuah pernyataan.
