Instagram hari Kamis (27/12) mengatakan tidak sengaja mengeluarkan perubahan desainnya ke sejumlah besar pengguna dan langsung mengakhirinya setelah mendapatkan keluhan dari para pengguna media sosial yang dimiliki Facebook ini.

Desain terbaru tersebut mengharuskan pengguna untuk menggeser layar ponselnya secara horisontal dibandingkan sebelumnya di mana pengguna menggeser secara vertikal untuk melihat konten Instagram, sehingga membingungkan para penggunanya yang berjumlah lebih dari 1 miliar di seluruh dunia.

Ini memicu keluhan di Twitter dengan hashtag #instagramupdate yang menjadi trending di Twitter.

Adam Mosseri yang mengepalai Instagram untuk Facebook mencuit di twitter dan mengatakan bahwa desain terbaru tersebut merupakan sebuah uji coba yang secara tidak sengaja teraplikasikan ke lebih banyak pengguna dari jumlah yang semula direncanakan.

Beberapa saat kemudian Instagram menyatakan telah kembali ke desain semulanya dengan metode menggeser secara vertikal.
