Gold prices rose on Monday in Asia after landing a second-straight week of gains as traders expect a U.S. rate cut this month. North Korea Experiences the Worst Drought in Decades

North Korea says the country is experiencing 40-year difficulties amidst food difficulties in the country.

The North Korean government news agency KCNA said Wednesday that 54.4 millimeters of rain had fallen in various parts of the country in the first five months of this year, the lowest since 1982.

KCNA said that the dry season is expected to end until the end of May.

Earlier this month, UN food agencies said in a joint agreement, about 10 million people in North Korea discussed food shortages after the country increased revenues in a reform.

Last February, North Korea's Ambassador to the United Nations, Kim Song, called for emergency food assistance for his country.
