Gold prices were fractionally lower on Monday, largely unmoved by either virus-related concerns or by worse-than-expected growth numbers from Japan. In quiet trading subdued by the U.S. Presidents Day holiday, gold futures were down 0.1% from Friday™s close at $1,584.45 a troy ounce by 8:04 AM ET (13:04 GMT). Departemen Keuangan Amerika telah mengeluarkan daftar politisi dan tokoh bisnis Rusia yang dekat dengan pemerintahan Presiden Vladimir Putin, berikut hubungan mereka dengan para pemimpin puncak serta kekayaan bersih mereka. Daftar itu diamanatkan oleh Kongres.

Daftar lebih dari 200 orang itu tidak disertai sanksi baru, meskipun sejumlah tokoh dalam daftar itu sebelumnya telah dikenai sanksi Amerika.

Agustus lalu, Presiden Amerika Donald Trump menandatangani undang-undang yang disahkan hampir dengan suara bulat oleh Kongres yang bertujuan menghukum Rusia yang dituduh campur tangan dalam pemilihan Amerika tahun 2016. Trump ketika itu mengatakan undang-undang tersebut œsecara tidak benar melampaui wewenang eksekutif, merugikan perusahaan-perusahaan Amerika dan merugikan kepentingan negara-negara sekutu di Eropa.

Undang-undang itu memberi pemerintahan Trump 180 hari untuk menghasilkan daftar tersebut, termasuk Perdana Menteri Rusia Dmitry Medvedev, Menteri Luar Negeri Sergei Lavrov dan para pejabat tinggi badan mata-mata. Di antara tokoh bisnis adalah pengusaha aluminium Oleg Deripaska, CEO Sberbank German Gref dan CEO Gazprom Alexei Miller.
