Gold futures fell Friday, building on a loss for the week, on the back of a jump in U.S. consumer sentiment and a slightly firmer dollar. The Hang Seng Index fell 1.16 percent, or 328.61 points, to 27,946.46. U.S. Stocks Rise; S&P 500 Set For Biggest Quarterly Rise Since 2009

U.S. stocks traded higher Friday as optimism over progress on U.S.-China trade talks appeared to overshadow concerns about a slowing economic expansion, leaving the S&P 500 on track to close out its strongest quarterly performance in a decade.

Meanwhile, investors are also watching the market debut of ride-hailing company Lyft Inc., shares of which first traded late Friday morning at a 20% premium to the level at which they were priced Thursday evening before trimming gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 141 points, or 0.6%, to 25,858, while the S&P 500 index gained 11 points to 2,826, a rise of 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 41 points, or 0.5%, to 7,705.
