Oil futures declined on Wednesday, with the U.S crude benchmark settling at its lowest in more than a year as global energy demand worries fed by the spread of COVID-19 pulled prices down for a fourth consecutive session. A popular U.S. dollar index turned lower Friday after gross domestic product data showed the U.S. economy grew at a hotter-than-estimated annualized rate of 3.2%, with investors focusing on subdued inflation in the GDP report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The ICE U.S. Dollar Index, which tracks the value of the buck against six of its trading rivals, fell to 97.980, down 0.3% on the day. The index rose to 98.33 after the release of the data.

Analysts polled by MarketWatch had expected a 2.3% growth GDP rate.
