U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is blaming Iran for Thursday's attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, off the Iranian coast. Gold futures pared much of their earlier gains Friday as a strength in the dollar dulled the dollar-denominated metal's appeal to investors.
